Metal Roofing in Washington County — The Last Roof Your Home Will Need

Central Vermont winters are long enough to end an asphalt roof early. Interlock is the one you install instead of the next three — interlocking aluminum, period-correct profiles for a historic Montpelier or Barre home, and the Guardian Warranty from Interlock Roofing Ltd.

ENGINEERED FOR THE MELT-REFREEZE CYCLE

Central Vermont swings between thaw and hard freeze all winter, which is what works asphalt shingle seams loose. Interlock's panels lock on all four sides so the field of the roof carries no exposed lap seam, and the finish is designed to release snow rather than hold a saturated layer.

HISTORIC MONTPELIER STAYS HISTORIC

The capital and the granite-era homes of Barre carry period rooflines that a modern ribbed panel would spoil. Interlock's slate and cedar-shake profiles keep them intact in a permanent material.

YOU STOP BUDGETING FOR IT

Every asphalt roof here is another tear-off, another dumpster and another five-figure cheque on a clock Vermont winters run fast. Interlock is built to be the last one. Where the deck is sound and code permits, it can sometimes be installed over existing asphalt — we strongly recommend a complete inspection to the roof deck first, as local codes commonly allow roofing over only one layer of asphalt shingles.

What Vermont homeowners say

★★★★

Long wait on materials, installation was good, but not what I would call great (some dents, some uneven areas). The overall project had the potential to be fantastic (due to the construction of the house) and it fell short of that, but still looks great. Also dissappointed that they could not provide me with a certification letter for the wind, hail, and fire resistance. So installation had no effect on my homeowners insurance. At my previous home in Texas, that was standard for all roofing contractors. See previous comments

This is the second review I have ever given. Absolutely couldn’t be happier about our new roof/skylights and the folks I dealt with during the whole process. Begins with the no pressure sales, support staff and ends with the people who did the work. Work was done in November and waited to give this review only because I wanted to see how it handled a Vermont winter and see if any issues came up. No issues, none! Not sure why, but I used a lot less oil this winter (colder and snowier winter than normal). Maybe my 30 years old skylights or something to do with the roof system? If you are on the fence about using Interlock Roofing or the Shake Shingle type of roof, my advice to you would be to get off the fence and pull the trigger!

Communications with the office could be improved. Dropping and losing nails and scraps in the snow is understandable but not picking up excess nails dropped while filling nail pouches is not okay. Also as a non smoker cigarette butts on the ground are definitely not okay.

We just put an Interlock metal roof on our house. We were very happy with Chris's presentation and and decided to move forward with them. They started when they said they would and the crew worked full days until it was complete.
